Being a Hunter - A Ekphrastic Poem
By Tenzin Demaling
I lay face
to face
A beast twice my size.
My wish was
To bring back food
For my two dear
Daughters.
And my very dear
Wife.
But I think that
It’s too late.
For now the beast stands up.
As I yank out the
Knife
In my pouch
And swerve
In the direction
Of his chest.
And miss.
THE LOVE POEM
By Audelle Hernandez
love is a pretty girl
Super pretty, everyone wants her,
Love is the person that will come and go
Love is best friends with cupid, most days
She comes around town spreading her love
She has good vibes stays pink and happy
But some days she can come back and take her love away.
Frazzled Flurry
By Ellie Flaum
Speckles of sweet
white snow,
scattered across the
street.
Footprints, imprinted
deeply into the cloud-like
snow, which makes a
hum, every time it is stepped on,
uneven,
and messy.
The road empty,
caused by snow storm warnings,
that cause never ending
traffic.
Benches, untouched,
left alone from the
ambient snowy chaos.
Lights, flashing,
the traffic lights,
green, red and yellow,
stop, slow, GO!
What a stressful day–
how will we get home?
Window into a Dream
By Tempe Coffey
Looking through the windows at night
Blinded by the overhead light
Watching the rain
With a lot of Disdain
We sit We talk
We look We walk
Until it all disappears like a cloud on a sunny day
Christina - An Ekphrastic Poem
By: Lucy Hoag-Fontana
Christina. Far away from home.
Her legs too tired to carry on.
Ready to reunite with her family, but they won't
Identify her.
Saddened by the realization,
Tiredness weighing her down.
¨If I try, I’m sure they will remember!¨
Not reassuring enough, she thought
After all, she opened the door.
